I provide individual therapy and work with adults and older adolescents to address a wide range of concerns. I pride myself on being easy-going and compassionate and believe in genuine connection and rapport to facilitate growth. I utilize humor, warmth, and empathy in therapy to foster therapeutic connections. I am committed to helping individuals from all backgrounds live healthy and purpose-driven lives.
I enjoy working with clients during phase-of-life transitions including starting college, having children, and living with loss, as well as other stress-inducing adjustments. I find it rewarding to facilitate skill-building in mindfulness, assertiveness, self-compassion, and cognitive flexibility.
I value evidence-based treatments (EBT) and have received extensive training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Habit Reversal Training (HRT). Additionally, I have a sub-specialty in Women’s Health, specifically in treating Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs).
I specialize in and have successfully treated:
In addition to individual psychotherapy, I provide psychological screenings and consultations for couples and individuals who plan to use third-party reproduction. While many consider the physical implications of being a donor or carrier, the psychosocial aspect is often overlooked. The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) recommends that carriers and donors receive psychological screening and counseling and intended parents have a psychoeducational consultation. These consults include a clinical interview in which we discuss historical factors, common pitfalls, expectations, and other relevant information as well as, for the gestational surrogates, administration and interpretation of the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI). I also offer ongoing counseling and support following the screening. I emphatically support family building for all who wish to pursue it. As such, I am happy to provide screenings and counseling to individuals and couples regardless of sexual orientation, identity or marital status.
